Training Days 2027 Tracks

UTOUG is committed to sharing content about Oracle technology. We understand that nobody is responsible for just one thing, so we are also committed to all other database technologies commonly found in the Oracle ecosystem including MySQL, Maria DB, PostgreSQL, and more. Even though the track descriptions here focus on Oracle, sessions addressing other database technologies can be included in the track that best matches the session descriptions.

Infrastructure (including database)
Topics related to the technical internals of IT including Database Administration (DBA), physical & virtual infrastructure, IaaS, security, and OS. Sample topics include database tuning and optimization, Ansible, Terraform, high availability, disaster recovery, PaaS, IaaS, cloud migration, and identity management.
This track also covers administration and tuning of business applications such as Enterprise Business Suite (EBS), Oracle Cloud applications, Fusion Applications, Hyperion/EPM, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards,
and SAP.  AI in this area would include usage directly related to administration or infrastructure such as Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Development
Topics related to all development languages and their supporting tools.  Sample topics include Oracle Application Express (APEX), Visual Builder/VB Studio, Python, GO, C#, JavaScript, Application Development Framework (ADF), and related underpinnings. This includes specific database languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and Java. AI in context of this track would include AI code development,
as well as AI underpinnings such as vector data.

Data (not database)
All tools and disciplines directly related to information and its interpretation, such as Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Analytics, Graphing and Reporting, Big Data. Includes everything in the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) lifecycle.  AI in this context includes how AI/GenAI and ML can be leveraged to improve data analysis and analytics.

Professional Development
All things outside of technology such as soft skills, managing a team, and career development.  Sample topics include interview techniques, team leadership, career development, networking & communication skills, and proper use of technology including AI.

New Technology
Technology is constantly evolving and it’s hard to put everything into a category. Topics here are for anything we have never heard of but should have.  Your chance to teach us all what we should be listening to but haven’t yet.  Example AI topics in this area may include AI agent development, training, and usage.
