    POSITION: Computer Specialist 

    PURPOSE: Performs a variety of working level professional technical support duties as needed to analyze, program and maintain county-wide information, telecommunication and data processing operations of the County. 


    Web Programming:

    Provides technical and computer programming support for the MIS department and the Corporation as a whole. 


    • Creates applications to be used to acquire data from the shop floor. 

    • Maintains application integrity for Merit's customized and purchased computer software programs.

    The Oracle E-Business Suite Applications Developer participates directly in the design, development and enhancement of existing or new applications for Oracle E-Business Suite R12.     Looking for a SQL Server DBA with some recent Oracle experience. This position requires participation in an on-call rotation with the rest of the DBA team to provide support for 24x7 SQL Server and Oracle databases in multiple geographic locations. The position is located in Salt Lake City, UT.  Salary is commensurate with experience.  

    Successful candidate will responsible for:

    • Supporting SQL Server databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security.
    • Proactively monitoring  database systems to ensure database availability with minimum downtime.

    • Experience with data guard
    • Backup and recovery using RMAN
    • Experience with ASM
    • Experience with Grid Control
    • Database performance tuning
    • TDE experience including wallet management and migration
    • Capacity monitoring and management capabilities

    • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Excellent critical thinking skills
    • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Ability to participate in multiple projects concurrently
    • Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals
    • Working knowledge of SQL Server is a plus
    • Oracle Certified Professional preferred.
    • Some experience with Windows clustering and SQL Server mirroring.
