    Job Summary

    The Office of Budget & Institutional Analysis is seeking a Sr Data Warehouse Analyst with strong experience in the design and development of dimensional data warehouse models to support our internal data landscape, help drive improvements in our design, techniques and maintenance processes, and help build out the semantic layer of our reporting environment.

    Our team is comprised of skilled data gurus, passionate about our role in reporting official university data and providing analysis used by University leadership in making data-informed decisions. We manage a varied data landscape with multiple data sources and leverage several BI tools. This position will share technical expertise in support of the end-to-end BI solution, with primary emphasis in managing our internal database schemas, data quality, and serving as liaison to the University’s central UIT Business Intelligence team, collaborating onETLprocesses and DBA support functions.

    The primary responsibilities of this position will include:

    •Serve as a leader in researching and adopting new tools and technologies

    •Build relational database objects

    •Write sql procedures and scripts to carry out data audits and manage data cleanup

    •Develop and maintainETLprocesses

    •Design data models to support front-end BI reporting tools, such as Tableau

    •Solve complex technical problems

    •Gather and document reporting requirements

    •Collaborate with leadership, IT, and internal analysts and external offices

    Minimum Qualifications

    Requires a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty or equivalency and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

    Principal Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

    • Develop Oracle PL/SQL ETL to support data warehouse and datamarts
    • Work with product and technical teams to understand the business requirements and build scalable and sustainable enterprise reporting solutions
    • Demonstrate through proof of concepts and present them to stakeholders. Formulate and provide recommendations. Promote Self-Service BI
    • Create conceptual and technical BI reporting documents
    • Mentor, develop and train team members and end users
    • Assist in code deployment and new client system implementations, including data transfer and user administration
    • Limited travel to other location to train and demonstrate
    • Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan

    • Experience developing product/solutions using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. MS SQL Server experience helpful.
    • Knowledge of dimensional modelling and experience building reports in MicroStrategy (9.3.1 or above) or any other BI reporting tool
    • Experience working with large data
    • Extensive knowledge in relational database design
    • Strong healthcare analysis background and experience preferred
    • 3+ years of SQL, PL/SQL, BI, SSRS and/or other report writing experience is required
    • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies preferred
    • Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem solving skills

    POSITION: Computer Specialist 

    PURPOSE: Performs a variety of working level professional technical support duties as needed to analyze, program and maintain county-wide information, telecommunication and data processing operations of the County. 


    Web Programming: 

    • Front-end web page development (HTML, Java, JavaScript, JQuery, Dreamweaver)
    • Back-end development experience (PHP, Java, .net, PL/SQL)

    Systems Administration 

    • Troubleshoot problems with: servers, workstations, peripherals, tablets, audio/visual, and security devices
    • Unix, Linux, Windows, experience
    • Support end users with system functionality

    Database Administration and Software Development: 

    • Performs software programming along with other software development lifecycle activities (requirements - design, test, document, work with others, and knowledge of C language)
    • Oracle experience a plus
    • ArcGIS server administration/development a plus


    • Graduation from college with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, communication technology, electronics, data management or related field; AND
